Training
Our training delivery program is dynamic, interactive, and unmatched. Training delivery includes role plays, videos depicting actual cases, case studies and victim testimony whenever possible. We partner with your training and policy team to ensure effective implementation of policy and program initiatives. Some of the trainings we offer include:
- Workplace Violence Prevention for Managers and School Administrators
This 2 hour workshop provides a dynamic overview of how managers can implement policies and programs designed to minimize the risks and liability associated with fatal and non-fatal workplace violence. This training relies upon standards established by OSHA and recommendations from the nation's experts within the FBI including real life case studies, video, and role plays to help participants identify, report and respond effectively to incidents of violence within the workplace. This workshop may be offered through live delivery or as a 50 minute webinar. - Domestic Violence in the Workplace
Addressing domestic violence in the workplace is a complex and highly sensitive matter for human resource professionals. Through this 2 hour workshop, participants will be able to effectively interact with both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and offer appropriate internal and external resources. Participants will learn the elements of safety planning in the workplace and lean best practice intervention to minimize potential legal and safety risks associated with domestic violence. This workshop may be offered through live delivery or as a 50 minute webinar. - Identify and Stop Bullying in the Workplace for Managers and School Administrators
According to a 2001 study conducted by the Workplace Bullying Institute, an estimated 65% of employees surveyed reported being bullied at some point in their career. Designed for senior HR professionals and managers, this 1.5 hour workshop will define bullying and differentiate it from other unprofessional conduct and offer pro-active organizational solutions designed to stop bullying in the workplace. Through customized videos, case studies, and role plays participants will learn to identify and effectively respond to accurately report bullying. - Conducting Effective Internal Investigations
This 2 hour workshop will review the essential elements of how to prepare for and conduct fair and thorough fact finding investigations into allegations of misconduct including discriminatory harassment, workplace violence, and code of conduct violations. Through video and case study demonstrations, managers will learn the top 10 mistakes made by organizations that may result in grievances and increase organizational liability. Training will include an overview of report writing and appropriate disciplinary considerations. - Addressing Performance Problems: For Managers and Human Resources
This training is designed to help managers properly identify and document ongoing performance problems, draft Performance Improvement Plans and manage common employee issues like time and attendance, and unprofessional workplace behaviors. Participants will be learn how to coach employees, promptly address performance issues and provide helpful feedback during the review process. - Stop Code of Conduct Issues in your Workplace
How do you effectively address code of conduct violations in your workplace? This training will focus on how the workplace can address common issues including disrespectful behaviors, dress code issues, and the misuse of e-mail and technology among employees. Through videos and case studies, managers will learn to quickly identify, address and document a wide range of issues while minimizing the risk that these behaviors will escalate. - Behavioral Contracting and Teambuilding for Managers
This dynamic training explores the underlying and common dysfunctions that exist within Executive Teams that serve to undermine effectiveness and create silos. At the end of this training, participants will learn to identify their own "behavioral blindspots" and how to move forward with professional relationships that have been strained. Through teambuilding, individual and group exercises, participants will learn how to rebuild trust with their colleagues and create a behavioral contract with the group. MBTI, and other personality inventories are utilized to help participants gain understanding and tolerance for individual differences. - How to Manage Effective Meetings
Do your meetings run too long, have no agenda — are participants constantly checking their blackberries? This seminar will transform the way in which you think about planning and conducting meetings within the workplace. Participants will learn how to effectively plan, conduct and manage results for highly effective meetings. - Keep Yourself OUT of Court: What Every HR Professional and Manager Should Know about Employee Relations
This workshop is geared to Human Resource Managers who regularly handle ADA, reasonable accommodations, discrimination complaints and internal investigations. Through case studies and role plays, participants will learn the top 5 issues that can result in litigation and MCAD complaints if not handled properly by HR and management. This seminar will address state and federal requirements, documentation, complaint resolution, retaliation minimization and effective disciplinary actions.
Policy and Program Development
With a broad and extensive background in auditing and establishing innovative prevention programs and policies for both the private and public sectors, we work with your leadership team to draft clear policy language targeting bullying, harassment, and domestic and workplace violence. We will audit your HR handbook and policy language and help you establish a plan for implementing a violence free workplace that includes training and a formal collaboration with outside experts.
Internal Investigations
Utilizing an expert outside consultant to conduct internal investigations guarantees that the fact finding is conducted in an unbiased, confidential manner. We can conduct prompt, unbiased and thorough investigations into allegations of harassment, workplace violence and bullying policy violations. We work closely with your legal team during the investigation and will deliver a final written report which includes our findings and recommendations.
Remedial Training and Coaching
Remedial training and coaching sessions maintains the dignity and confidentiality of the impacted employee and creates and environment of respect and accountability. Our one-on one remedial training and ongoing coaching educates employees, target behavioral issues and develops benchmarking to track an employees’ progress.
Case Consultations
We provide expert case consultations to effectively address domestic violence, workplace violence, bullying and discriminatory harassment. These cases are often highly complex and sensitive so we’ll work with you to target immediate safety planning, confidentiality, and minimizing potential hazards and liability.
